Democracy and Constitutions: Chile and Venezuela

Author: Anahi Araiza

Authors note

I am a student at the University of California, Berkeley. I have been a student in this institution for 1 and a half years but already has shaped so much about my perception of what could be. The aim in writing these blog posts serves as a narrative build as I try to conceptualize my understanding of democracy and what could be through analysis of the Constitutions of Chile and Venezuela. I think about my role, as I stand as a student, as a Latina, and as a US citizen, in comparatively visualizing the lessons that the US can learn from these two Constitutions. I am involved heavily with student government work, both on campus and across the UC system. I think about the lessons that can be taken from the democratic processes.

This video gives an overview of the project process and timeline of the constutional refernendam and some challenges that occured in the creation of media in the blog posts below.
